ASD - Modelling to ensure industrial vehicle performance

Altran studies the effects of design alterations and hence improves the performance in harsh, unpredictable environments.

Business Objectives & Challenges

Our co-CAE expertise was used to combine multi-body dynamics using MSC ADAMS with basic hydraulic simulation in Simulink to enable us to study the effects of design alterations and hence improve the performance in harsh, unpredictable environments.

Approach & Solution

1.The full mechanical model was produced using MSC ADAMS/View and validated against real experimental data.

2.A dynamic model of the hydraulic power system was created in Simulink, as well as a range of control strategies (Stateflow).

3.The Simulink model was inserted into the ADAMS model (via a dynamic link library) and simulated using ADAMS solver routines.

4.Post-processing tools were then created to quickly validate the virtual results against real world data.
