Altran UK and Theorem Solutions today announced a partnership to implement Product Data Managed (PDM) Exchange, a new solution that allows companies with different CAD and PLM systems to exchange information seamlessly and securely throughout the product lifecycle. Theorem Solutions will provide the underlying software and technical support while Altran’s engineers and consultants will provide the implementation expertise as part of its Lifecycle Experience solution.
“The new partnership between Altran UK and Theorem Solutions will enable our clients to collaborate electronically using complex product data without having to use the same PLM or CAD products,” remarked Mike Simms, CEO of Altran UK. “This missing link in the PLM story has forced OEMs to impose CAD systems and PLM processes on their supply chains, holding back innovation. We intend to release this brake by giving companies back the incentive to invest in their own competitiveness. The technology offered by Theorem Solutions will be a key enabler of this transformation.”
Stuart Thurlby, Managing Director of Theorem Solutions commented: “Our PDM Exchange solution allows a supplier to work with multiple customers without compromising its own engineering and manufacturing processes. The same technology can also be used to aggregate CAD and PLM information from multiple sources within an organisation. This makes it easy to accommodate information from legacy systems to avoid or postpone expensive data migrations. PDM Exchange can be cloud served or on-premise, and is based on our own well-proven data model, meaning that we can respond quickly to new releases of PLM tools without waiting for standards to be updated. We are expecting high demand from our customers for this highly innovative solution and we look forward to working in close partnership with Altran UK."
