Altran announces Derby office opening

Altran, the leading-edge global engineering consultancy, has announced the opening of an office in Derby, putting the company at the heart of a key engineering hub in the UK. Derby is the UK’s leading high-tech city, with 12% of the workforce employed in high-tech functions. It is home to world-class, global enterprises operating in the aerospace, rail and automotive sectors. The opening is prompted by the company’s desire to place itself at the heart of this activity, enabling the support of key clients in the region.

Welcoming the opening of the new office, Mike Simms, Chief Executive Officer of Altran UK, said: “The Midlands is a thriving industrial hub, which is of increasing importance for many of the sectors in which we provide our expertise. We consider positioning ourselves at the centre of this activity a key priority and look forward to being part of this community.”

We are delighted that the time has come to realise our goal of opening an office in this area renowned for excellence in engineering

Denton Clutterbuck, Head of Aerospace and Defence at Altran UK, commented: “The Midlands is host to companies operating at the cutting edge of innovation. We have taken an active interest in the region for some time, notably through our involvement in the MAA (Midlands Aerospace Alliance). We are therefore delighted that the time has come to realise our goal of opening an office in this area renowned for excellence in engineering. The office will bring us closer to valued customers based here and provide us with a springboard for growth in the region.”

The opening has been welcomed by the local business community. John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said: “It’s great news that Altran has selected Derby as their latest base within the UK. As one of the world’s leading engineering consultancies, Derby is an ideal location for Altran to continue with their UK expansion.”
